I grew up in a Deaf family. I am now retired. I was a Deaf researcher and worked closely in the Deaf community at Deaf Studies at the University of Bristol. I then went to Uganda for a two-year project. I moved to Nottingham and worked at Nottinghamshire Society, working within the Deaf community. I learnt a lot from them, and it’s the reason I continue campaigning, specifically in the Deaf community, to improve our access and wellbeing.
