Deaf Action
Philip is the Chief Executive of Deaf Action and has led the organisation since 2017. He is a profoundly deaf BSL user and brings extensive experience from across the deaf and disability sectors, with a strong focus on equality, access and cultural inclusion. Under Philip’s leadership, Deaf Action has continued to strengthen its role as a values-driven, deaf-led organisation, delivering essential services and working in partnership to improve outcomes for deaf people and BSL users across Scotland and the South of England.In 2026, Philip was awarded an MBE for services to the deaf community, cultural inclusion and disability rights. He is passionate about deaf leadership, meaningful collaboration and ensuring that deaf people are recognised, respected and fully included in society.
